I don’t think I’ve ever witnessed IHGR and its students and staff so full abuzz on a Monday like I did today. Yesterday, a new chapter was written in Swedish history. For some, it’s a dark day of shame that will take years to erase. For others, its a day of great victory.
For the first time, a non-socialistic party was secured power after being re-elected into a second term in Parliament. Another historic first was the Sweden Democrats gaining 5.7 % of votes and thus exceeding the 4 % needed to attain seats in Parliament. That’s about 400.000 out of approximately 7 million people that all think SD is a good idea. Exactly how and how much this will change and shape Sweden, only time can tell it seems.
Judging from all the Facebook posts I have to say: I don’t know about you guys, but I’m not leaving. Even if it means vacation courtesy of SD 😉
